Tomorrow, students will be dismissed at 1:30 for teachers' professional development. Also, school will be closed on Monday, January 14, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Enjoy the extended weekend.
Here come... fractions!
Our next math unit will focus on fractions, decimals and percents. This unit can be challenging at times, and if you find your student struggling with the homework, remember that it is acceptable to play a math game at night instead of completing the homework assignment. If a student does play a math game, I ask that a parent (or other adult) write a quick note on the math homework, and that the student come in with questions for me. The class website has some additional math resources to help students will their math homework. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Pottery Mosaic Project
Thanks to those of you who have sent in pottery for our mosaic project. If you find any other mugs, plates, bowls or platters you can send in for our project, they would be greatly appreciated.
